Chris Guthrie

Christopher Guthrie is the Design Engineer and Production Coordinator for Precision Classic Timpani.  In addition to his work on PCT timpani, Chris has developed our Copper Snare Drum line and worked in design development on our Dresden Pedal Timpani. Most recently Chris has designed and prototyped our new Precision Quad Keys.

Chris is a third generation professional musician including both of his parents.  He holds a degree in Music Performance from Western Michigan University.  After graduation he toured Japan with the Emmy and Tony award winning broadway musical Blast!.  Chris is currently in the states performing with the Kalamazoo Symphony, South Bend Symphony, and the Bellingham Festival Orchestra as Percussionist and Timpanist.  In the past he has performed with such ensembles as Southwest Michigan Symphony, Opera Grand Rapids, The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, and Great Lakes Percussion.

As an Educator, Chris works routinely in the marching arts.  He has worked with many ensembles such as Kennesaw Mountain High School (GA), Plymouth Canton Educational Park (MI), Jenison High School (MI), Lakeshore High School (MI), and Northcoast Academy Percussion Ensemble (MI).  In addition to teaching and college master classes, Chris takes time to arrange and write music for various ensembles.

Chris’ educational background and performance experience makes him perfect for developing percussion instruments and gear for all genre of music performance.
